Fire Station Visit
On Tuesday 9th October Year 2 visited Ipswich East Fire station as part of our topic ‘The Great Fire of London’. We had a fantastic time because we were able to practice firing water with the hose, sit in the fire engine and see our teachers dress up as fire fighters! We were given a tour of the fire station and even saw a fire engine leave with the sirens and lights on. Red watch were on duty and they helped us learn all about fire safety and how fires are fought nowadays. We then used all of this information to help us understand how The Great Fire of London was fought and why it spread so quickly.
